Vidcode's mission is to provide an engaging and accessible way for all students to learn computer programming and discover the code behind their favorite things. Vidcode is a Y Combinator-backed company in a growing industry. We're a small, agile team and looking for someone to help support the educators and schools using Vidcode.

 

Job Description

In this role you’ll support the Vidcode team, partners and customers to impact more kids' lives with coding. You'll be the lead coordinator of the Vidcode virtual office - promoting efficient collaboration, tracking goals, preparing documents for customers, and communicating metrics with the founders. 

As the office manager for our fully distributed company, you'll manage our team contributing to the engineering, sales, and curriculum work. You’ll work closely with the founders to deliver on business goals and ensure that the team is up to speed. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to help grow and manage a social impact business. You'll support and empower our team, the educators and the students who use our coding courses. Many of the teachers who use Vidcode's online coding tutorials in their classroom are teaching computer science for the very first time. It's a unique moment in time to empower these teachers leveraging Vidcode's easy-to-use coding courses. Things our customers say:

Responsibilities

  • Manage Vidcode staff scheduling, pay, and benefits platforms

  • Demo Vidcode's interface to schools, libraries, and partners who might want to integrate the curriculum

  • Be the point of contact and manage deliverables for Vidcode’s large customers in the EdTech and after school space

  • Answering user questions about technology, curriculum, and pricing 

  • Organizing team reports on revenue, estimates and invoices

  • Organize monthly accounting and payroll reports 

  • Manage relationships with existing accounts for customer satisfaction. Support customers as needed on their questions or concerns. Upsell additional products as well as obtain referrals.

  • Help manage a coordinated system of high touch/outreach to educators

  • Help manage product rollout to clients, ensuring clients adopt new products and features

  • Support free teacher accounts and connect with decision-makers at the district level once they've become champions

  • Assist as needed in leading webinars 

  • Interfacing with decision-makers at the district level

  • Interfacing with our B2B partners & customers

  • This is a part-time position for 10-20 hours a week

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently 

  • Experience working with a web-delivered product or business

  • Accountability in reporting progress on work and fulfilling deadlines 

  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented

  • Strong integrity - can build trust with our team and customers

  • Derive joy from talking to educators and training/development

  • Passion for education, particularly addressing issues of equity and computer science

  • Computer programming experience, ideally in a classroom setting (we teach JavaScript, but if you have experience teaching or using another language, like Scratch or Python, that's completely fine)

  • Outstanding ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of education organizations, including senior leaders, superintendents, and board members (phone, email, and in-person)

  • Experience collaborating with remote teams

  • 1-2 year commitment

    • renewal oriented account management; demonstrated track record of building client relationships, retaining accounts, and growing business

    • Classroom experience or similar, you empathize with teachers and can model best teaching practices in a CS classroom

    • Demonstrated savviness about the inner workings and politics of decision-making for education budgets.

    • Professional experience working in or with school districts, departments of education, or other large education organizations.
