Creative Coding in Libraries

Vidcode works with libraries to help offer research-backed computer science and coding education for tweens and teens in their community.

For Coding Clubs

With Vidcode code clubs, librarians can run clubs without knowing how to code. Students code creative projects like Snapchat filters and memes, following either non-linear tutorials or a full course pathway.

Self-guided learning for library patrons

Tweens and teens who visit the library can learn on their own by following Vidcode’s independent study track. They follow tutorials and complete challenges and quizzes to learn JavaScript programming.

Vidcode is partnered with libraries around the U.S.

“You can get crazy and creative, and I’ve enjoyed it so much. It’s amazing, being able to think “what do I want to code today,” and be able to see it come alive.”

Elisa, Mayfield High School Student

“We had our first class last week and it went amazing! The teens loved the projects provided and especially loved making their own meme...Vidcode program has been so easy to work with and we have had no technical issues at all. ”

Alexis Avila, Rockford Public Library
